The upfront training fee payment will be reduced to $150 (normal rate is $375) if you apply in one of the critical need areas listed below. The training fee payment is only paid once full acceptance into WCACP is granted. The critical need areas include:
Bilingual teachers – EC-6 Bilingual or 4-8 Bilingual
Special Education teachers – EC-12 Special Education
In addition to the discounted training fee, teaching candidates that begin a one-year teaching internship in one of the five critical need area listed above will receive a stipend to help reduce the internship fee amount. Once officially hired, a stipend in the amount of $500 will be deducted from your overall internship fee balance.
Total price for program with critical need discounts - $3,775
You must submit your application and be accepted in one of the critical need areas listed above to qualify for the discounted training/internship fee rate. The special rate will apply to teaching candidates that apply to the program between January 1, 2010 and July 15, 2010. A generalist certification will not qualify for the discounted rate.
Instructional Aide Promotion:
The upfront training fee payment for applicants currently employed as an instructional aide in a school district will be reduced to $150 (normal rate is $375). The training fee payment is only paid once full acceptance into WCACP is granted.
Teaching candidates that begin a one-year teaching internship under this promotion will receive a stipend to help reduce the internship fee amount. Once officially hired, a stipend in the amount of $750 will be deducted from your overall internship fee balance.
Total price for program with instructional aide discounts - $3,525
You must provide a service record or letter from the school district (stating your employment with the district as an instructional aide) prior to being accepted into WCACP to receive the discounted training fee rate & be eligible for the stipend. Teaching candidates with previous instructional aide assignment experience, but are not currently employed as an instructional aide, will not be eligible for the special promotion rates or discounts. The special rate will apply to teaching candidates that apply to the program between January 1, 2010 and July 15, 2010.
*A service record can be obtained by contacting the personnel office at a school district. This form can be mailed or faxed to WCACP.
New Graduate Promotion:
New college graduates applying to WCACP will qualify for a discounted training fee. To encourage new graduates to consider making the switch to the teaching profession, the training fee payment for new graduates will be discounted to $150 (normal rate is $375).
To qualify for the promotion, you must apply to the program during your last semester of coursework or within three months of graduating with your undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited university or college. The promotion will only apply to undergraduate degrees, not to recent graduate or PhD degrees.
The special rate will apply to teaching candidates that apply to the program between January 1, 2010 and May 15, 2010. The normal application and internship fee payments will apply.
Web-Camera Discount:
WCACP will give you a $50 discount on your internship fee if you already have a built-in web camera on your computer.
