Observation Hours Required for Texas Teacher Certification

You must complete 30 state mandated observation hours while enrolled in the program to obtain your Texas teacher certification. You will be able to complete 15 hours of observations by accessing our video library. Your remaining 15 hours can be completed via in-class observation hours at a school. You also have the option to document 15 long-term substitute days completed at a school.

An observation letter will be provided in the online curriculum that will allow you to schedule your in-class observations. You will need to contact an Independent School District, TEA recognized private school, or charter school directly to inquire about observation policies and procedures. It is your responsibility to set-up the observation assignments.
