Late Hire Exception
(accepted to program on or after June 15, 2011)
The late hire exception gives you additional time to complete the state
mandated requirements for teacher certification. This will make it
easier for a principal to hire you for a full time teaching position for
the 2011-2012 school year.
Definition of late hire - A teaching candidate who has not been
accepted into WCACP before June 15th and who is hired for a teaching
assignment by a school after June 15th or after the school’s academic
year has begun.
The following requirements must be completed before WCACP will
recommend a probationary certificate for the 2011/2012 school year (if
you fall under the late hire exception):

Pass your TExES content
exam or qualify for the
24/12 exception

Completion of Module 2
in curriculum (Classroom Management)

Hired full-time in your
content area at an Independent School District, TEA recognized
private school, or charter school in the state of Texas
The following requirements
must be completed within 45 school days of starting your teaching
assignment (if you fall under the late hire exception):
