About and Demographics

Clear Creek ISD educates more than 41,000 students per year. It is the 29th largest district in Texas and serves students from both Harris and Galveston County. It has a total number of 44 campuses including 5 comprehensive high schools, 10 intermediate schools, 26 elementary schools, and 2 charter schools.

This is a culturally diverse district that instructs students of many different ethnic backgrounds: 52.3% Anglo, 26% Latino/Hispanic, 9.8% Asian, 8.3 Black or African American, .3% American Indian, and .1% Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander.

They hold an impressive graduation rate of 98.5% and a college attendance /workforce rate of 96%. Clear Creek ISD students have known to excel in State Assessment and College Admissions Exams. On the 2014 SAT exam, Clear Creek students, on average, ranked higher than the national and state average.

Teaching at Clear Creek ISD

The district has a lot to offer its teachers. In the 2014-2015 school year, new teacher’s who held a Bachelor’s degree gained a starting salary of $48,500; Masters $49,500; PhD $50,500. For their hiring incentive for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 school years, signing bonuses from $2,000 - $5,000 was offered to certified instructors in Health Science Technology.

As a teacher, you receive help from the district’s mentor program that helps new teachers improve their teaching and classroom management skills. The district allows internships so teaching candidates are able to meet the field experience requirements of teacher certification programs such as the Web-Centric Alternative Certification Program.

Programs

Clear Creek ISD offers students programs that will enrich them academically, artistically, and athletically. The Advanced Academic & Gifted and Talented Services have a variety of programs for students K-12 who show highly advanced academic skills. Some of the programs offered are Acceleration/Credit by Exam, Alpha Program, Pre AP, AP Courses, Clear Horizons Early College HS, College Test Prep, and more.

The Career and Technical Education Program presents students with a variety of courses and specialty programs that will allow students to focus on the subjects and careers that they are interested in. This helps students explore their prospective college majors and career interests. Programs include but not limited to:

Parental Connection

Clear Creek ISD believes in connecting with parents and giving them opportunities to see the progress in their child’s educational development. CCISD4ME is a portal that allows parents to have access to information regarding their child, their campus, and the district. They will be able to view their child’s daily grades, 9-week grades, attendance, their teacher’s contact information, class schedules, assignments, announcements, and more.

Teacher Certification

The Web-Centric Alternative Certification Program offered by etools4Education allows aspiring teachers to obtain their teacher certification for Texas. You are required to complete modules, online classes, and gain field experience while completing the mentoring assignments that come along with it. You can complete the program online at your pace and around your own schedule.
