Teaching Internship
This route to certification is a one year (two semester) internship you can complete at an Independent School District, TEA recognized private school, or charter school in the state of Texas. During the probationary year, you will receive a base salary and benefits of a first year teacher.
Once you pass your TExES content exam, you can begin applying to open teaching positions around the state. Once hired, your probationary certificate will be recommended and you will start earning credit towards your certification.
During your internship you will complete a combination of curriculum assignments, online classes, and mentor activities. A member of the program staff will be assigned to you during the process to ensure you are successful in your quest to become certified.
