PACT vs. TExES
The PACT and TExES are the same
certification exam. The only difference is that the PACT is taken prior
to admission to the program. Once you pass the PACT, you will not
be required to retake the exam once enrolled in the program.
The PACT is the first certification exam required by the state to become
certified. This exam is called the “content test” and is required before
you can apply for open teaching positions. Once the PACT has been passed
and you’re enrolled in the program, you will be issued a Statement of
Eligibility. This paperwork will demonstrate to a school district that
you are considered highly qualified in your content area and can be
considered for open teaching positions in the state of Texas.
