GPA Exemption
WCACP is able to accept a limited number of teaching candidates each
year that have a GPA lower than the 2.5 threshold. Each applicant will
be reviewed by our Board of Directors for acceptance into WCACP.
The following criteria will be used to
determine acceptance into WCACP:
 |
Passing test scores in a
critical need area (mathematics, science, special education,
bilingual, or Spanish) |
 |
Currently work as an
instructional aide in a Texas Independent School District |
 |
Currently employed or have a
job offer as a teacher of record with a Texas Independent
School District
|
 |
Previous coaching, tutoring,
or long-term substitute experience |
To be considered for WCACP with a GPA
below 2.5, applicants must go through the normal application
process. A formal letter summarizing your desire to teach,
circumstances that led to low grades during your undergraduate program,
and previous experience in the education sector is required. These
credentials should be submitted along with your normal application
documents.
