The EC-4 Bilingual
Generalist content area allows you to teach any one or a combination
of English, math, science and/or social studies classes in a Bilingual
classroom at the elementary level, Early Childhood through 4th grade.
Minimum GPA of 2.5 in 24 semester hours, in any combination of core
courses to include at least:
- 6 hours of English
- 3 hours of mathematics
- 3 hours of natural science
- 3 hours of social studies
*The Texas Oral Proficiency Test (TOPT)
is a requirement for this certification area.
Note: GPA must be 2.5 or higher using one of the three evaluation
methods – overall GPA, last 60 hours, or by content hours.
