The 4-8 Generalist ESL content area
allows you to teach English, math, science, social studies, music, art
and physical education in an ESL setting as defined by the hiring
district at the middle school level, 4th grade through 8th grade.
Minimum GPA of 2.5 in 24 semester hours, in any combination of core
courses to include at least:
- 6 hours of English
- 6 hours of mathematics
- 3 hours of natural science
- 3 hours of social studies
*Additional course curriculum is
required for teaching candidates pursuing an ESL certification.
Note: GPA must be 2.5 or higher using one of the three evaluation
methods – overall GPA, last 60 hours, or by content hours.
