The English Language Arts
and Reading 4-8 content area allows you to teach English at the 7th
and 8th grade level.
Requirement for Admission:
Individuals applying for the English Language Arts and Reading 4-8
certification area should have a minimum of 12 semester hours of
college coursework in English related courses (this can include
communication classes).
Alternatively, you can take the #117 English Language Arts and
Reading 4-8 TExES certification exam if you don’t meet the minimum
hour requirement.
