WCACP will review your transcripts during the
application process to determine if you qualify for the 24/12 exception.
To qualify, you must have 12 lower level credit hours and 12 upper level
credit hours in a specific subject area.
This exemption allows for some flexibility to occur during the hiring
process. However, the majority of districts will be looking for you to
have passed your TExES content test before they will consider you for a
teaching position for the 2010-2011 school year.
In certain circumstances a 24/12 exception will allow a district to hire
you prior to passing your contest test. If this situation occurs, a
Principal or Human Resource representative from the district must
request the 24/12 exception documentation directly from WCACP.

exception:
Keep in the mind the 24/12 exception is only used by a
few district for hiring purposes. Passing your TExES content test will
ensure you are considered for open teaching positions during the
2010-2011 school year.
